Hunter Expressway (M15) Control Upgrade - Kurri Kurri to Belford (27km)
PSS was contracted by AbiGroup to assist in reinstating the state control network disturbed by construction of the Hunter Expressway.
Under liaison with Land and Property Information (LPI) and Roads & Maritime Services (RMS), PSS designed a survey to meet the standard of the LPI for the 32 new permanent marks to be recorded in the Survey Control Information Management System (SCIMS).
PSS were responsible for overall survey design and methodology for both levelling and a GNSS network over the 27km project scope.
AbiGroup completed all levelling survey work based on PSS survey design, while PSS performed all GNSS work including a preliminary network adjustment for submission to LPI.
Kooragang Island Water Scheme - Hunter Treatment Alliance - Mayfield West Water Treatment Plant
Construction of a reverse osmosis water treatment plant by HTA for Hunter Water Corporation at Steel River, Mayfield West.
Project included various construction activities including:
- main plant building concrete, drainage and electrical conduits
- concrete footings for 5 above ground steel tanks
- 5 pumps stations and/or pads, concrete and electrical
- large concrete chemical bunds
- underground piping from 100mm to 750mm
- stormwater drainage above and below ground
- concrete access way, kerbing and pavement
- amenities and education annex buildings
BOC Gases, Koorangang Island - Laser Scanning and Detail Survey
Laser scanning and detail survey for plant upgrade merging scanning and traditional survey techniques.
Scope included laser scan and 3D modelling of existing tanks and specific service piping plus detail survey of surface structures, access ways and services.
Hunter Expressway (M15) Construction – AbiGroup
PSS assisted AbiGroup Surveyors with survey for the construction of 27km of dual carriageway expressway, 4 interchanges and associated ramps and local road realignments.
The variety of survey included:
- bulk earthworks setout and conformance
- blasting surveys
- machine guidance
- drainage setout and conformance
- large network control surveys
- pavement setout and conformance
- roundabout construction
Sewer Pump Station and Storage Tanks - Huntlee, Branxton - Patroy Enterprises
PSS are providing all Survey requirements for the construction setout and conformance including machine guidance of the Sewer Pumping Station and Storage Tank facilities for Huntlee and Hunter Water.
Prototype House - Huntlee, Branxton - RCQ Constructions
PSS are providing all Survey requirements for the construction setout and conformance of a new Prototype House in North Rothbury.
Remediation of the former Asphalt Plant - Black Hill
PSS has been assisting Burton Contractors in the remediation of the former Asphalt Plant at Black Hill. Our work has consisted mainly of volume calculations for remediated areas and the setout of critical areas as flagged by the Environmental teams. For the completion of remediation PSS is designing the site to be used in future industrial developments utilising material currently onsite.
Waste Transfer Station - Tea Gardens
PSS created 3D models for machine guidance for the onsite bulk earthworks and established a control network for calibration of the machinery. In the construction of the Waste Transfer Station PSS assisted with the design & setout of associated roads, drainage, infrastructure and plant.
Stockpile Volume Surveys - Grain & Coal - SGS Australia
Volumetric Surveys on Wheat storage facilities throughout Rural NSW, Queensland, Victoria & South Australia to determine volumes by calculation.
Additionally, PSS continue to provide biannual reports for coal stockpile volumes at several Power Stations in the Lithgow region for SGS Australia.
Bucketts Way Road Corridor Survey
Craven to Taree via Gloucester, total surveyed length approximately 30km.
17 separate project areas of rural road detail spread over 90km of the Bucketts Way.
TEJV Rail Corridor - Newcastle to Casino
Land Acquisition Surveys of multiple parcels of Torrens and old system land for rail corridor widening along the Main Northern Railway.
